Is it wise for a vegan to date a non-vegan?
In a word, no. Problems will arise.
I know a fair few vegans who went vegan after having married, while their fucking partner remained a meat eater. Not only has this caused arguments, but where kids are involved, it can get pretty difficult.
- Could you stand watching your playmate chomp down on ribs while you eat your lentil burger?
- Could you smooch someone after they’d just necked a glass of bovine growth hormones (milk)?
- Could you stand back and observe your playmate feed your child chicken wings?
Okay, enough of the horrible visuals already. But the reality is that it’s advisable for single vegans to date other vegans, if that is they don’t want to run into the aforementioned issues later down the line.
In my opinion, if you can’t agree that cruelty to animals is unnecessary, and that meat and dairy is unnecessary in maintaining a healthy diet, I don’t hold out much hope for a successful, loving future together.
That’s all well and good, you might say, but where can I find another vegan that thinks like me? A vegan looking for romance who shares my love of animals and plant-based foods?
Where can I find someone with interests like animal welfare, permaculture, sustainable living, alternative energy sources, bicycling over driving, organic gardening and all such conscious things?
Inject vegan dating, well, vegetarian and vegan dating, because most sites combine the two groups.
The Three Best Vegan-Vegetarian Dating Sites
While the big players like Match.com and eHarmony might have vegan and vegetarian members, you’re likely to find yourself lost in a sea of meat-eaters and fighting to find matches.
Gratefully, however, the internet has a number of vegan dating sites where like-minded plant eaters can seek each other out.
Mind you tho’, not all are created identically, as I found out in my research. Indeed, some hardly have any members and, despite some looking the part, many don’t show up active at all.
So I researched every vegan/vegetarian (where vegans are also members) dating site and found the Four best for you to attempt.
To determine the which ones were the best, I looked how often visitors frequented the site on a monthly basis, dug into the features and pricing, and even checked out their media coverage for feedback.
So here they are, my Four top vegan dating site picks:

It has a concentrate on community and meaningful connections, with advanced filtering that enables you to specify the exact lifestyle playmate you are and aren’t looking for – such as the vegan filter!
The site isn’t stringently for vegans of course, but mindful living and conscious eating complement each other and are other synonymous. So naturally there’s slew of vegans and vegetarians on there looking for friendship, romance and love!
